The captured mood is wonderful. The cropping, I think, makes it a more intimate portrait than it would be otherwise. I think the angle at which you shot it works well to capture the three quarter view. Based on what I see onscreen, the clarity appears good. Unfortunately, I think the overall image is detracted from by the use of the flash. That huge shadow behind them takes away attention from your main subject. Most likely this was spontaneous and this is the moment in time you wanted to capture. No time for gathering and setting up special lighting. Its a happy and poignant moment. Having it in B&W gives it a classical feel. The vignette helps to the focus in on your subject. Overall, I think its a very good image.
